On Thursday 27 June, at a glittering ceremony at The Newcastle Eagles stadium, the College picked up an award for 'Great Place to Learn: Enriching the Learning Experience'. Christina Maw from the College Work Experience team collected the award from Grant Glendinning, Principal of Carlisle College.

The Excellence Awards recognise and celebrate the great work that goes on right across the NCG group and the life-changing difference that staff make to thousands of lerners every year.

Chris Payne, Acting Chief Executive of NCG said: "I know the pride you all take in how our learners progress and what they achiee. This is evident from the volume and quality of the nominations we received - from colleagues, employers and learners'.

The Work Experience Team help 1000 students to support them into meaningful work experience. They source the placements, match the learners and also monitor them within their work experience. The team have worked extremely hard and service a large number of learners. They have also piloted an app to record the timesheets for the work placement carried out.
