Lewisham College recently welcomed Caremark (Bromley & Lewisham) to deliver a two-hour manual handling masterclass for Level 3 Health and Social Care learners.
The session was delivered to two groups, including adult and teenage cohorts studying the NCFE Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care. The training combined theory and practical learning, giving learners the opportunity to develop essential skills for safe and effective care practice.
Learners used the hoist in the College's hospital ward to practise manual handling techniques within a simulated clinical environment, helping them build confidence and competence in a realistic setting. Caremark Bromley & Lewisham, which also sits on the College's Health Employer Advisory Board, led the session to support learners' professional development and deepen their understanding of industry expectations.
The masterclass provided learners with valuable insight into professional care practices while reinforcing the importance of safe manual handling in health and social care settings. Experiences such as these help ensure learners develop the practical skills, confidence and industry awareness needed to progress into further study or employment.
Lewisham College would like to congratulate all participating learners on completing the training and thank Caremark Bromley & Lewisham for their continued support and partnership in helping develop the next generation of health and social care professionals.
