Today, on National Fitness Day, Lewisham College is celebrating the positive impact that sport and physical activity can have on wellbeing, confidence and community connections.
Through the partnership with Millwall FC and Millwall Community Trust, the College supports local people through sport, education and opportunities that help individuals develop skills both on and off the pitch. Together, the organisations are committed to creating pathways that enable young people and local residents to achieve their goals, improve their wellbeing and progress into education, training and employment.
Lewisham College's Sport programmes provide students with the opportunity to combine academic study with practical experience, helping them build the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for future success. The College's Football Academy programme, delivered in partnership with Millwall FC, offers learners the chance to develop their sporting potential while working towards recognised qualifications.
As part of this ongoing partnership, Lewisham College will also be attending the Kick Into Employment Job Fair next week. Hosted by Millwall Community Trust, the event will bring together employers, education providers and community organisations to support local people in exploring employment, training and progression opportunities.
National Fitness Day serves as a reminder of the important role that sport and physical activity play in promoting healthier lifestyles, improving wellbeing and strengthening communities.
