Learners from Lewisham College recently put their hospitality skills into practice at the Blackheath Luncheon Club, a monthly community event hosted by The Clarendon, gaining valuable real-world experience in a professional setting.
Learners studying the Level 2 Diploma in Culinary Skills supported the event through a range of front-of-house responsibilities, helping to create a welcoming and enjoyable experience for guests. Working alongside hospitality professionals, they served food, assisted attendees and contributed to the smooth running of the event.
The learners impressed guests with their professionalism, confidence and excellent customer service skills. Their positive attitude and attention to detail earned praise from attendees, and The Clarendon has expressed an interest in offering similar opportunities for Lewisham College learners in the future.
Experiences such as these give learners he opportunity to apply their classroom learning in a live environment, helping them develop industry-relevant skills, build confidence and gain a deeper understanding of careers within the hospitality sector.
