Lewisham College is proud to celebrate an outstanding achievement by its learners, who have secured a 100% pass rate in their recent GCSE resit examinations for both English and Maths — a remarkable milestone that reflects their resilience, determination, and commitment to success.
A total of 33 learners sat GCSE resits this year, with all 20 English and 13 Maths candidates achieving a pass. This marks a significant improvement on last year’s results, with English pass rates rising from 86.1% to 100% and Maths results climbing from 78.0% to 100%. Notably, 60% of English learners and 61.5% of Maths learners achieved strong grades (Grade 4 and above), supporting their progression to further study, apprenticeships, or employment.
Beyond the numbers, these results represent a powerful story of perseverance. Many learners overcame personal and academic challenges to reach this point, demonstrating the strength of character and ambition that Lewisham College is proud to nurture. Their success also reflects the unwavering support of staff and the College’s commitment to creating opportunities for every learner to thrive.
Jamie Stevenson, Principal of Lewisham College said, “These results reflect the determination and commitment of our learners, many of whom have worked hard to overcome significant challenges to achieve their goals. GCSE English and Maths are vital qualifications, and we are proud to see so many learners succeed and move forward with confidence to the next stage of their education or careers.”
As English and Maths continue to play a crucial role in unlocking future opportunities, this 100% achievement rate marks a pivotal moment for learners advancing to higher-level courses, apprenticeships, or employment.
Lewisham College congratulates all learners on their exceptional achievements and extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated staff whose support and encouragement helped make this year’s resit success possible.
