As part of our ongoing commitment to preparing learners for the world of work, Lewisham College has successfully hosted another round of Employer Advisory Board (EAB) throughout the second half of the 2024/25 academic year.

These meetings bring together industry professionals from specific sectors, including Construction, Hospitality, Early Years, Business and Finance, Healthcare, Creative, IT and Digital, and Sports, to ensure our learning aims remain aligned with the current demands of the job market.

Key employers who participated in these meetings include TFL, University of Greenwich, Construction Youth Trust, NHS Trusts, Millwall Community Trust, Brighter Horizons Group and Lewisham Council, who along with other industry representatives offered insights, guidance, and opportunities, to ensure learners have the skills and knowledge they need to succeed in their chosen fields.

Jamie Stevenson, Principal at Lewisham College, said: "The insights gained, and the partnerships formed during these discussions will significantly benefit our learners and bolster our current and future curriculum. This initiative demonstrates Lewisham College's dedication to providing learners with the best opportunities to succeed in their careers and to impact the wider community and organisations positively."

Many of the employers who attended our industry-specific EAB meetings also pledged their support to our Back Lewisham London Talent campaign, further demonstrating their dedication to creating opportunities for local young people.

Our Employer Advisory Boards are powerful platforms that allow employers to directly shape education. They help ensure that Lewisham College learners graduate with the skills, confidence, and experience required to succeed. The College remains committed to facilitating productive discussions with industry leaders and implementing innovative ideas and strategies discussed at the EAB meetings.

We are continually looking to expand our network of employer partners. If your organisation would like to take part in shaping the future workforce, visit lewisham.ac.uk/employers
