Lewisham College recently hosted its Art and Design Winter Show, celebrating the creative achievements of learners from the Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design and Level 3 Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communications.
The exhibition featured a diverse range of themes: Level 2 learners explored Light and Dark, Level 3 Year 1 learners focused on Storytelling through Narratives, and Level 3 Year 2 learners responded to Play. Together, the works highlighted both personal storytelling and experimental approaches to art and design.
Learners displayed work across multiple media, including painting, mixed media, fabric, etching, digital media, sculpture, animation, and dressmaking. Highlights included detailed portraits, three-dimensional pieces, digital artworks, and cottagecore-inspired garments, demonstrating technical skill, creativity, and artistic development.
The Winter Show welcomed parents, carers, friends, staff, and fellow learners, creating a lively and supportive exhibition space. Learners had the opportunity to present and explain their work, build confidence, and celebrate months of dedication and creativity.
Events like the Winter Show play a key role in learner development, helping learners prepare for further study, apprenticeships, or professional practice. The exhibition showcased not only learners’ talent but also their confidence, communication skills, and personal growth.
