Lewisham College held its annual Student Awards on 13 June 2025, recognising the remarkable achievements of both 16-18 and adult learners over the past academic year.
Hosted in the College’s beautifully decorated Breakspears Hall, the event shone a spotlight on the hard work, growth and determination of this year’s winners and nominees.
Students, their families, college staff and special guests came together to mark this proud moment in the academic calendar. Those present were treated to live performances from the College’s learners, featuring fantastic singing and dance displays that helped put everyone in a celebratory mood before the awards began.
Jamie Stevenson, Principal of Lewisham College, opened the ceremony with a heartfelt address, praising students for their dedication and drive. Jamie said: “Our winners have either excelled in their specialist field or overcome a range of barriers to achieve over their time at the College. All our students have shown what can be achieved through determination, perseverance and dedication. The Student Awards Ceremony honours our students who have already succeeded in the first stages of changing their lives.”
Student Governor, Abdedunmola John Dairo, also addressed his peers, reminding them of everything Lewisham College has taught them and the opportunity they now have to positively progress to the next chapter of their career and educational journeys.
Awards were then presented to learners across a range of categories, including Excellence, Resilience, Excellent Employability Skills and Diversity and Community Champion.
