Lewisham College students had the opportunity to talk about health with representatives from Healthwatch Lewisham.

Healthwatch Lewisham is one of Lewisham College’s Community Partners, they represent the views of people who use local health and social care services (GPs, hospitals, social services etc). They have the power to ensure that people’s voices are heard by the government and those running such services.

Engagement Officer Sydney and volunteer Alex set up a stall in the College’s foyer to ask students to share their experiences at the GP, hospital, with social workers and more.

Positive feedback as well as negative and neutral was received, and students also had the chance to be signposted to certain services if required. The session was set up to serve as a platform for students to have their say in regards to health and social care and will be happening regularly throughout the year.
