The community at Lewisham College came together today to celebrate a strong set of results as learners collected their GCSE grades. The college was filled with excitement and anticipation as learners arrived to collect their results, many achieving significant personal milestones and opening the door to further education and career opportunities.

Adding to the celebratory atmosphere, the Mayor of Lewisham paid a special visit to the college to meet with learners and staff. During the visit, the Mayor congratulated students on their achievements and spoke about the importance of education in empowering young people and strengthening the local community. The visit was a proud moment for the college, recognising the collective efforts of learners, educators, and families.

This year’s GCSE results reflect the hard work and dedication across a range of subjects, with learners achieving success in both English and maths, among others. The results also highlight the ongoing commitment of Lewisham College’s teaching staff, who continue to provide high-quality support and guidance throughout the academic year.

These achievements reflect the College’s focus on creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment, where learners are empowered to succeed regardless of their starting point.

Lewisham College is committed to helping learners progress to the next stage of their education or career. Whether learners are continuing with further study, enrolling on a vocational course, or exploring apprenticeships, staff are on hand to offer advice and support.

Jamie Stevenson, Lewisham College Principal, said: “We are incredibly proud of our learners and the resilience they have shown throughout the year. These results are a testament to their determination and the hard work of our learners and teaching teams. At Lewisham College, we are focused on helping each learner achieve their goals and prepare for a successful future.”

Lewisham College is currently open for enrolment for courses starting this September. With a wide range of programmes across vocational subjects and apprenticeships, the college offers pathways tailored to each learner’s aspirations.
