This course is designed for adults aged 19 and over who have additional learning needs and want to build confidence, develop practical skills and increase their independence.
The course is suitable for adults who would benefit from a supportive learning environment focused on personal development, communication and everyday work-related skills.
Delivered part-time over one academic year from September to June within the Supported Learning department, learners attend college two days each week on Tuesdays and Fridays from 9.45am to 2.45pm, with a break for lunch.
The timetable is designed to support adult learners who may be balancing study with other personal or family commitments, making it easier to combine learning with everyday responsibilities.
Throughout the course, learners take part in a range of practical and creative activities including cooking enterprise projects, art and design, self-advocacy and work-related learning.
All areas of study are delivered at an appropriate pace and focus on building confidence, independence and practical skills that can be used in everyday life, community settings and future opportunities.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal academic entry requirements for this course.
Learners must be aged 19 or over and have additional learning needs. This course is designed for adults who do not have an Education, Health and Care Plan.
Before enrolment, learners will take part in an initial discussion with the teaching team to ensure the course is suitable for their individual needs, goals and support requirements.
Assessment Method
Assessment takes place throughout the course through practical activities, tutor observation and regular feedback.
There are no formal examinations. Progress is measured through individual development, participation and the ability to apply new skills in practical situations.

Aims of the course
The aim of this course is to help learners develop confidence, self-advocacy and greater independence in everyday life.
