Health & Social Care

Mental health problems affect around one in ten children and young people. These issues can include conditions such as depression, anxiety and conduct disorders, and they may often be linked to experiences or challenges in a young person life. Emotional wellbeing is just as important as mental health, which is why it is important for those working with children and young people to understand the key concepts, risk factors and potential impacts of mental health difficulties. This course provides learners with an understanding of children and young people mental health, including the factors that can affect emotional wellbeing and how individuals and organisations can provide appropriate support. On successful completion of the course, learners will be awarded a Level 2 qualification in Children and Young People Mental Health. The course has continuous running intakes and learners can apply through the college website. The Admissions team will then contact applicants to provide further guidance, including enrolment dates.
