This programme is designed for learners who use counselling skills as part of their role across a range of sectors, including education, health, social care, and community services. It can also act as a foundation for those who wish to progress towards accredited counsellor status with a recognised professional counselling body. The qualification is accredited by NCFE CACHE, a leading awarding organisation with more than 170 years of experience in education and training.     Entry Requirements

    To be eligible to study this course free of charge, learners must currently live in England, be aged 19 or over, and earn less than £27,000 gross per year. No previous counselling qualification is required.

    Assessment Method

    Assessment is completed through written coursework and assignments undertaken throughout the course. There are no formal examinations.

    Aims of the course

    The aim of this course is to develop learners understanding of counselling skills, including communication techniques, reflective practice, and the principles of providing appropriate support to others in a range of professional and community settings.

    Progression Opportunities

    After completing this qualification, learners may progress to further training in counselling, mental health support, health and social care, or related areas. The course can also support progression to higher level counselling qualifications for those wishing to pursue a career in counselling.
