The purpose of this qualification is to support individuals who are responsible for safeguarding others and to help prevent radicalisation. The course provides learners with an understanding of safeguarding principles and the importance of protecting vulnerable individuals. Learners will develop knowledge of how to recognise the signs of abuse, understand the risks and indicators of radicalisation, and explore the potential consequences of illegal online activity. On successful completion of the course, learners will be awarded a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent. This course has continuous monthly intakes. Once an application has been submitted, the admissions team will contact learners to provide support and confirm enrolment details.

Entry Requirements
This course is available to adults aged 19 or over who have lived in the UK for more than three years. During enrolment, college staff will support learners in confirming their eligibility for the course.
Assessment Method
Assessment is completed through written coursework and assignments undertaken throughout the course. There are no formal examinations.
Aims of the course
The aim of this course is to help learners understand the principles of safeguarding and the Prevent duty, develop awareness of the risks of abuse and radicalisation, and understand the responsibilities individuals and organisations have in protecting vulnerable people.
