IT & Computing

Data protection compliance is an essential legal requirement for all organisations. Since the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) came into force in May 2018, it has become increasingly important for anyone working with personal data to understand the law and act in compliance, as the consequences of non-compliance can be severe. This qualification is designed to provide learners with an understanding of data protection and data security, including current legislation and how it is applied to organisational procedures concerning data. Learners will also develop knowledge of possible threats to ICT systems and data, how to protect against these risks, and the consequences and impact of data breaches. On successful completion, learners will be awarded a Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Data Protection and Data Security. This course has continuous running intakes. Once an application is submitted, the admissions team will contact learners to provide support and confirm enrolment details.
