Early Years

All children and young people deserve to be safe and well cared for within a supportive and protective environment. Unfortunately, this is not always the case. With thousands of children identified as needing protection from abuse in the UK, it is important that those working with children or families understand the risks of abusive and exploitative behaviour that some children may experience. This course introduces learners to the knowledge needed to support the care and wellbeing of children and young people. It explores safeguarding responsibilities, the risks children may face, and the strategies used to protect them while following appropriate procedures. On successful completion of the course, learners will be awarded a Level 2 Certificate in Introducing Caring for Children and Young People.
