Are you keen to pursue a career in arts and design? The UAL Level 3 Diploma and Extended Diploma in Creative Practice: Art, Design and Communication are qualifications designed for post-16 students who wish to develop specialist skills for a career in the creative industries. These qualifications provide the industry-relevant skills, knowledge and understanding needed to progress into entry-level roles, training programmes or apprenticeships within the creative sector, or to move on to related higher education courses. Learning takes place through practical activities and project-based work. You will be encouraged to explore, experiment and engage with a wide range of art and design methods, developing both your creativity and a professional approach to learning. Entry Requirements
You will need four GCSEs at grades A to C or grades 9 to 4, including English Language, or a Level 2 vocational qualification alongside a Level 2 English qualification. You will also be required to attend a portfolio review and demonstrate a suitable level of ability and achievement in the subject area. If you are accepted onto this course without a grade 4 or above in Maths and or English (previously grade C), you will be required to develop your skills in these subjects as a compulsory part of your timetable.
Assessment Method
You will be assessed through a combination of assignments, coursework, practical workshop observations, and a final project.

This course provides an introduction to art and design, enabling you to re-engage with education while developing the knowledge, skills and understanding required to progress to further study or employment within the creative industries.

Career Options
On completion of this course, you will be able to progress into higher education specialising in areas such as theatre acting, screen acting, dance for television and film, circus performance, drama therapy, directing, scriptwriting, producing, independent practice, voice acting or coaching, or teaching. This course also provides the opportunity to enter employment in a wide range of junior art and design roles within the creative industries.
