Special EDUCATIONAL Needs

Lewisham Southwark College is a college of further education, based at three sites in Lewisham, Deptford, and Southwark.

We offer cross-college additional learning support, and also supported learning courses which have been specifically designed to suit young people aged 16-24 who have learning difficulties.

Cross-college additional learning support

We provide different kinds of assistance on programmes across the college for students who need it.

This includes help with:-

  • English and mathematics
  • Dyslexia
  • Counselling
  • Autism and/or Asperger syndrome
  • Physical disabilities
  • Visual and hearing impairments
  • Personal care and health needs
  • Mental health needs
  • Supported learning courses

We also host a range of programmes with built-in support for young people with high needs at our Lewisham and Deptford campuses:-

  • Vocational tasters
  • Pathway to independence
  • Pathway to employment
  • Skills for work and supported internships
  • Transition
  • School links
