Are you keen and have the interest in pursuing a career in creative media production? This exciting and innovative course will help you to develop a range of creative media skills. This course has been designed to provide students with the skills knowledge and understanding necessary to progress to further study and training in a range of media related subjects including games design website design film TV radio sound engineering and others. The qualification has been designed for students who have an interest in media often a specific discipline such as games design who wish to explore and extend this interest via a full-time immersive learning experience. Many students will have identified a specific career in the creative industries that they wish to progress to (e.g. games designer app designer broadcast technician cameraman director etc) using this qualification as a starting point. So whether you already know the specific creative career path you wish to follow or want to progress on to further study and Higher Education this course will help you to achieve this dream.

    Entry Requirements

    • 4 GCSE qualifications at grades A*-D or 9-3 including English Language- Level 1 vocational qualification and a Level 1 English qualification- Relevent industry experience to level 1 or aboveAdditional information: You will have a review of your portfolio If you are accepted onto this course without a Grade 4 (that's the old Grade C) or above in Maths and/or English you will be given the opportunity to develop your skills in these subjects. This will be a compulsory part of your timetable.

    Assessment Method

    Students will be assessed by a combination of assignments course work observation of practical workshops and a final project.

    Aims of the course

    This course has been developed in response to an identified need for students studying for qualifications in media to have a broad diagnostic experience that provides them with an understanding of the discipline and prepares them for the reality of the sector and progression paths and careers available to them. The qualification has been designed to incorporate a strong element of vocational learning to provide students with the understanding knowledge and skills identified as necessary for future progression and employment underpinned by the broad transferable skills that will enable students to demonstrate qualities of adaptability self- reliance collaboration dependability resilience imagination and creativity. The course also aims to enable studens to be more employable by helping you to develop skills in communicating working collaboratively negotiating and influencing self-presentation and management adaptability and resilience self-monitoring and development.

    Progression Opportunities

    After successfully passing this course students will have developed a portfolio of work that could support progression into a range of qualifications at Level 3 including UAL Level 3 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology which is generally delivered over one year.


    Our courses are delivered in spacious state-of-the-art studios enjoying natural daylight from the adjoining Tressiliian road offering excellent inspiring views of Lewisham way. We have a huge 90-seat theatre spacious dance and technical theatre studios rehearsal rooms computer editing suites recording studios and digital and traditional black and white photography developing dark rooms.You will have access to Apple devices professional DSLR cameras and lenses recording equipment and editing suites all loaded with the latest industry-standard software.You are not expected to provide your own equipment. However it may be beneficial for you to have your own Canon DSLR camera that records HD video or similar.

    Career Options
