Sport

This course is designed for post-16 students who want to progress to employment in the sports sector - either directly into an entry level role or via a sport related apprenticeship such as PE teaching or club coaching. The course consists of 360 guided learning hours (equivalent to three GCSEs) and includes the opportunity to improve your English and maths skills.The course provides opportunities to undertake projects such as organising and running a sports event or exploring trends which affect the public's participation in sports.On successful completion of this course you will achieve:L2 qualification in sport English (dependent on prior qualification)Maths (dependent on prior qualification)You will also go on a work placement which is a compulsory element of the study programme and will give you a headstart when you look for a job.

    Entry Requirements

    Four GCSEs at grade 9-3 including English and mathsL1 Functional Skills in English and mathsOr Equivalent level 1 qualification at pass grade

    Assessment Method

    You will be assessed through both practical and written assessment methods including an exam element.

    You will learn through a combination of practical tasks off-site visits work experience workshops guest speakers use of technology simulations 1:1 sessions and both group and independent work.
