This one-year sports pathway is designed to provide you with a good grounding in a wide range of sports topics. It is perfect for you if you have a genuine interest in a number of different sports and are considering a career in sport, but are currently undecided about exactly what you want to do. The pathway acts as an excellent platform to progress onto a number of different specialisms as, during the course, you will complete a Level 2 Diploma in Sports alongside an additional coaching qualification which will enable you to discover what it takes to be an effective sports coach. You will also get the opportunity to undertake a work placement to gain industry experience and help prepare you for employment. (In some cases, work placements are paid.) Completion of these elements will provide you with an excellent foundation to continue your learning and development, and pursue your dream career in sport.

- 4 GCSEs D-F/3-2
- Relevant Level 1 qualification with Merit or above
- Relevant industry experience to Level 1 or above

- Written assignments (Word reports, posters, leaflets, presentations etc)
- Short answer question tests
- Observation assessments

This course will prepare you to progress on to a level 3 course or enter the sports sector in a range of roles, depending on your aptitude, abilities and ambitions, from professional footballer to school sports coach.
