This study programme is a two-year course and is equivalent to three A Levels. It consists of nine mandatory units and four optional units, the content of which has been designed to ensure it supports students with a keen interest in working within either sports and leisure field or within the Psychology sector. It has been designed to support learners progression to higher education.

Entry Requirements
Four GSCEs (any subjects) and grade 4 and above in English Language, Science and maths.
This programme is delivered with a foundation diploma certificate in sport and cannot be combined with A levels.

Aims of the course
This course aims to motivate learners who are considering a career within Psychology/Sports, or a related sector through a mixture of external and internal assessments. This is done by providing learners with knowledge and understanding of different Psychological approaches, research methodology and relevant sports and leisure knowledge.
Learners will also be expected to use a synoptic approach when undertaking their internal assessments which will develop skills of investigation, problem-solving, analysis and creative development. Learners will learn key studies and theories within Psychology and biological fundamentals in regards to the body's anatomy and physiology and will be required to demonstrate their knowledge through application to real life scenarios as well as case studies.
