English and maths GCSE at grade 4 and above Level 2 in health and social care (desirable) Work experience in the social care field (desirable)

External Assessments (exams) and Internal Assessments.
Aims of the course
Following this course, learners will develop the knowledge skills and behaviour in the field of social work. Learners will also have the opportunity to develop study skills which will give better preparation for university progression.
Progression Opportunities
Learners primarily progress to Higher Education study in areas related to Social Work.
These may include some of the following areas of Degree level study: Community Development and Leadership, Education, Culture and Society, Health and Social Care, Psychology and Counselling, Social Care Studies, Social and Community Work, Social Work, Sociology, Sociology and Criminology, Working with Children and Young People, Youth Studies and a wide range of combined and related degrees.
Facilities
The course is taught in a variety of ways, including workshops, seminars, lectures, guest speakers, visits, group work and presentations. Learners will have access to the College's online systems and facilities including Google resources, Google Classroom and EMe to use both on and off site.
