This course leads to an Entry 3 Extended Certificate in Vocational Studies, with the opportunity to develop your English and maths skills at the same time.

On successful completion of this course you will achieve:

You will also go on a work placement which is a compulsory element of the study programme.

    Aims of the course

    • To enable you to develop vital study and workplace skills such as communication, teamwork, problem solving, and managing and presenting information
    • To build your confidence in a variety of vocations such as catering, health and social care, hair and beauty, and sport
    • To prepare you for personal progression, working life and social inclusion by helping you to develop behaviours such as time management, respect and patience, and build your confidence levels

    You can progress to an academic qualification at level 1 in a range of service industries.

    You'll learn through a combination of practical tasks, off-site visits, work experience, workshops, guest speakers, use of technology, simulations, 1:1 sessions, and both group and independent work.
