The aim of this course is to develop students' speaking skills so that they can communicate effectively in a variety of contexts for work, studies and daily life. Students will work on features of pronunciation such as individual vowel and consonant sounds, word and sentence stress and intonation. They will also work on register and appropriacy. The focus is on developing both fluency and accuracy through relevant and enjoyable practice activities so that students can make themselves understood and feel confident in a wide range of different situations.

Aims of the course
To improve your speaking and listening skills, to gain confidence in the pronunciation of the English language at work and in daily life.
Students are welcome to apply for any other ESOL courses at the end of this course and may progress onto higher level course in ESOL or in the other parts of the college. Advice and guidance about progression opportunities is given during the course.
Classroom lessons, learning centres, trips and other teaching and learning activities such as group work, presentations, visiting speakers etc.
This course could help you progress in your current role or with gaining employment.
