The course also aims to enable you to be more employable by helping you to develop skills in communicating, working collaboratively, negotiating and influencing, self-presentation and management, adaptability and resilience, self-monitoring and development.
Learning will be through practical activities and project. You will be encouraged to explore, experiment and to experience a wide range of art and design methods to develop creativity and professional approach to learning. Activities may include painting, drawing, illustration, model making, sculpture and printmaking.

Entry Requirements
- 4 GCSE qualifications at grades A*-D or 9-3, including English Language
- Level 1 vocational qualification and a Level 1 English qualification
- Relevant industry experience to level 1 or above
Additional information: You will have a review of your portfolio and ideally show some moderate success in the subject area.
If you are accepted onto this course without a Grade 4 (that's the former Grade C) or above in Maths and/or English, you will be given the opportunity to develop your skills in these subjects. This will be a compulsory part of your timetable.
Assessment Method
You will be assessed by a combination of assignments, course work, observation of practical workshops, and a final project.

The Level 2 Diploma in Art & Design will provide you with an introduction to art and design, enabling you to both re-engage with education and acquire the requisite knowledge, skills and understanding to progress to further education or employment in the creative industries.
Progression Opportunities
Successful students will be equipped to enter a number of art and design-based roles. These could include product designer, illustrator, sculptor, sketch artist, digital designer, architect, 3D model maker, animator, independent artist, painter, interior decorator, print designer, and fashion branding roles. After successfully passing the Level 2 Diploma in Art and Design (Fine Art), you may wish to consider one of the following Level 3 courses:
