We all like to eat well but with our busy lives often just don't have time to spend hours in the kitchen following lengthy recipes. On this course you'll learn how to cook a range of healthy meals that take just 20 minutes from start to finish! The course is taught by top chefs who will show you how to create well-balanced meals ? including fish meat and vegetarian options ? that will wow your friends and family on any day of the week. By the end of the six week course you will have acquired a variety of new skills which will enable you to make fast work of supper back in your home kitchen. You will be awarded a College certificate when you complete the course.

    Entry Requirements

    The desire to learn how to cook within 20 minutes a variety of different dishes. A good level of English and maths is required.

    Assessment Method

    Continuous assessment over 6 weeks at the end of each session.

    Develop skills and practices to be able to produce meals within 20 minutes to a professional standard.

    To be able to progress to the level 2 part time course in culinary skills

    What can I earn as a chef? When you're deciding what to study post-16 it's important to think about where your course will lead. As a qualified chef or catering professional you'll be starting on a career path with loads of opportunity for progression ? and a good salary in your sights. For example: Chefs start on around £13 000 a year and can earn £17 000 with 3 years' experience Restaurant managers start on around £15 000 year and can earn £22 000 with 3 years' experience If you're thinking this sounds like you we offer a diverse range of vocational courses that will help you get where you want to go. Our former students have gone on to work at some of the most famous restaurants and hotels in the world including The Ritz Hotel ? and with the right training and experience there's no reason why you shouldn't follow them.
