    Entry Requirements

    You'll need a good level of English & Maths to study the course. This can be via Level 2 qualifications or GCSEs in both subjects at grade 4 (C) or above or initial diagnostic assessments (Adults).You will also need basic IT skills.

    Assessment Method

    Assessment is by computer-based exams and computer-based projects.You'll need to complete online assessments for:- Bookkeeping transactions- Bookkeeping controlsThere will also be an online end-of-course assessment covering Bookkeeping Transactions and Bookkeeping Controls.

    Aims of the course

    The Introductory Certificate in Accounting will prepare you for junior and entry level accounting roles by giving you a solid foundation in finance administration - covering areas such as double entry bookkeeping and basic costing principles.It is suited for: - People who are new to accounting and finance - Unqualified accounting staff who want to enhance their foundation knowledge and skills- Employers looking to upskill their staff - People looking to change their careers. This qualification would be appropriate for those who wish to pursue a range of careers in either the private or public sectors.

    Progression Opportunities

    Upon successful completion of this course you can progress onto our AAT Level 3 Advanced Diploma in Accounting Programme.


    Study Method: Online and On CampusOnline video lectures are available on demand and can be viewed from your phone tablet or computer meaning you can choose how when and where you want to study. Each lesson lasts around 45 minutes and is accompanied by animations and motion graphics to bring concepts to life. Exercises interactive case studies and analytical tools help to enhance the learning experience further.On campus you benefit from regular college classes without having to commit to attending multiple evenings each week. Experienced tutors will discuss and reinforce what you have learnt during your online study and are on hand to provide guidance on progress and assessment. Discussion and debate with classmates will help you apply theories to situations you face in the workplace.Note regarding Coronavirus (COVID-19):Due to the nature of our Online and On Campus courses with key concepts being taught online through high-quality video lectures students are able to continue their studies seamlessly with social distancing in place. Some of the regular 'On Campus' lessons can be replaced by remote 'virtual classroom' sessions led by college tutors. This flexible approach can be easily adapted to suit government guidance and college policies.

    Career Options
