Is this course for me?

This course is designed for new health and safety representatives to find out more about their role in the workplace and the local union. It covers the attitudes, skills and knowledge to improve health and safety in the organisation and to take up members' issues with management.

What will I study?

This course explores health and safety law, bargaining for health and safety and the role and function of health and safety representatives.

What can I do next?

This can lead to the Unionlearn Health and Safety Reps Certificate Level 3 (Stage 2) course.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need to be selected by your trade union to join this course.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is by the tutor on completion of a portfolio of evidence generated during course activities. Students meet regularly with tutors to help plan studies and discuss progress.

What will it cost?

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances, you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out when you apply.
