This course is a professional qualification for experienced Literacy subject specialists. Validated by the University of Greenwich, it offers a professional qualification in pedagogy and observed, practical teaching of literacy. Assessment is based on real teaching experience.

What can I do next?

This course can lead to further career development and credits towards a higher teacher or education qualification (Levels 6 and above).

 

What are the entry requirements?

You will need to have a full LLUK/LSIS recognised teacher training qualification (e.g. Cert Ed or DTLLS). Normally, you will have a literacy qualification at least at Level 3. Also, you will have to demonstrate good literacy skills and be engaged in the teaching and/or support of literacy teaching and teachers. You will need to have a portfolio of literacy teaching in order to develop your practice.
