Is this course for me?

This course will provide you with an excellent qualification framework and the real-world experience to go and find employment in the sports industry. It's a 35hr per week full-time job for those who are serious about making the most of their abilities. Talented and with a desire to learn how to manage facilities and people? This course is for you.

What will I study?

You will be training able-bodied customers and people with disabilities and you will gain an Apprentice framework which consists of running and maintaining the gym, assisting lecturers in lessons, completing an NVQ in Personal Training and a second industry standard certificate in fitness instruction, a Technical Certificate about Organisational Awareness, a First Aid award, Functional Skills and a Customer Service Exam.

What can I do next?

This course can lead to employment as a personal trainer, membership with REPS, and onto higher education.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need to have completed an NVQ Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject, and you will need to complete an application form. If you meet the criteria you will be asked to attend an interview, where you will join other potential apprentices to do an assessed presentation. The top eight performers will be offered an apprenticeship position.

What will it cost?

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances, you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out when you apply.
