Is this course for me?

Sometimes all the excitement and drama is backstage; there's a buzz to making sure a production is ready for curtain up. You don't have to be onstage at the Xfactor  you could be backstage organising the stars, creating the special effects (lights, fireworks smoke) styling the costumes, designing the stage, working with the musicians, helping the audience. A career backstage can take you all over the world but before you go stop off at Lewisham College and train as a stage manager and be in control of the whole show. Our course will not only help you progress to become an Apprentice in the Entertainment Industry or to go to Theatre school but will also introduce you to, lighting design, special effects, costume styling, making and painting stage designs and props.

What will I study?

This course teaches stage management through working in practical classes and on theatre productions in and outside of the College with plenty of opportunities for work placements.
