Is this course for me?
This course is primarily for students aged 16-18 years, and is
suitable for those with little previous experience but who have
taken part in school plays, youth theatre work, musical or dance
shows.
What will I study?
This course will allow you to develop performance skills in
acting. You will gain an overview of the performing arts, as well
as practical skills to help understand performance, preparing for
performance (rehearsal) and group work. You will also develop
skills in communication and CV preparation.

What can I do next?
This can lead to study for a Performing Arts BTEC National
Diploma.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need a keen and disciplined attitude towards performing
arts is essential. Applicants also need two supporting references
and you will need to attend a workshop and interview.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through practical and written assignments,
performance work and class work. Students also take formal
examinations for key skills. Students meet regularly with tutors to
help plan studies and to discuss progress.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
