Is the course for me?
This course develops technique and performance skills in the
major dance techniques of Ballet, Contemporary and Jazz, and
prepares students for further training. Other subjects covered
include: Choreography, Criticism, Pilates and a Research Project.
There are many opportunities to perform, including the
Choreographic Platform and the Annual Show.

Choreography
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through a range of methods including; internal
practical assessments, choreographic projects, written assignments,
journals, evaluations, discussions, presentations and
performance.
What can I do next?
This can lead to higher education on degree courses and
vocational courses. Some of our previous students are currently
studying at Laban, London Contemporary Dance School, London Studio
Centre, LIPA, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Middlesex
University, Surrey University and Millennium 2000. Employment
opportunities can be found in performance, community dance,
choreography, musical theatre and teaching in the post-16
sector.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have successfully completed a Level
3 course or have previous dance training that can be
demonstrated at an audition. Two references must be supplied. You
will also need to attend a dance workshop, audition and interview.
Evidence of an interest and/or previous participation in dance
and/or the performing arts is required as well as an appropriate
level of written English.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.

fees stated apply to the first year only. These costs are for the
academic year 2011-2012 only.
