Is this course for me?
This qualification will provide learners with the essential
knowledge and skills to prepare and cook food across a range of
environments within the hospitality and catering sector. It will
enable learners to gain confidence and deliver a high level of
serice.

- Handle and maintaining knives
- Hygiene
- Maintain a safe and secure environment

- Clear a table service
- Prepare and bake food
- Prepare and fry food
- Prepare and grill food
- Prepare fruit
- Prepare hot/cold sandwiches and bread products
- Prepare vegetables
- Prepare, boil, poach and steam food
- Prepare, cook and assemble food for service
- Serve alcoholic and soft drinks
- Serve food at a table
What can I do next?
This course can lead to a full Level 1 Certificate which
will enable progression on to Level 2 courses in Professional
Cookery
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to come to the College for an interview and a
short test. You also need to have a reasonable understanding of
Maths and English.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
