Is this course for me?
This course is for those who are planning a career in nursing
and some Allied Health Professionals but who do not have the
necessary experience or qualifications to progress directly to
higher education. This Course is suitable for specific
professionals. This can be discussed at your interview.
What will I study?
This course has excellent links with higher education providers
and students are thoroughly prepared for higher education. Subjects
studied include: sociology, biological science, psychology,
professional studies and research as well as communications,
numeracy, and IT.
What can I do next?
This can lead to nursing and midwifery or health related
studies, higher education or employment in the health or care
sectors.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have completed the NVQ Health and Social Care
Level 2 or the BTEC First Diploma Health and Social Care at merit
level. Mature students without qualifications who have relevant
experience will be offered an assessment and interview. We will
also require you to have a Criminal Records Bureau check.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through assignments, oral presentations, practical
work and tests. Students also meet regularly with tutors to help
plan studies and discuss progress.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
