Is this course for me?
This course is for experienced childcare practitioners working
directly with young children (aged between birth and seven years
old), who wish to develop their professional practice.
What will I study?
Areas covered include planning, curriculum development,
developing professional practice including safeguarding children,
and working with parents.
This course has been developed in partnership with South Bank
University and includes a specialist vocational component which is
underpinned by broad based academic learning, to support the
development of your practitioner role.

What can I do next?
This can lead into one of two honour degree pathways at South
Bank and a range of other programmes including teacher training and
other universities.
This may lead to employment in:
- Senior management
- Social Science
What are the entry requirements?
You will need at least two year's qualifying experience at Level
3 and must be currently working in a childcare setting. There is an
assessment and interview. Applicants need to register for a
Criminal Records Bureau check two or three months before the start
of the course.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment includes assignments, group work, oral presentations,
projects, essays and portfolios. Students have regular meetings
with a personal tutor to discuss progress and help plan studies.
Additional support, help and guidance. A mentor from the workpalce
is necessary. She/he will give you additional Support and
guidance
What will it cost?
This course is a Full Time Higher Education course and
therefore may be eligible for funding through Student
