Is this course for me?
This course gives you a general understanding of the care and
learning and development needs of children and how to develop your
childcare practice. You will also have the opportunity to
gain first aid and key skills in communications, numeracy, and IT
to support you
What can I do next?
This can lead to the Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and
Education or Children's Care Learning and Development. This
qualification leads to a wide range of employment opportunities in
childcare.
This can lead to employment in:
- Creche work
- Nurseries
- Classroom support work
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have three GCSEs at grade D or above or a
Caring for Children Foundation Award at merit level. An interview,
assessment and two references are required, and a Criminal Records
Bureau check must be completed.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is through assignments, work products and practical
work. Students also meet regularly with tutors to help plan studies
and discuss progress.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
