Is this course for me?

You will explore early years development and learning, in addition to first aid, health and safety, nutrition and dietary requirements and social policy. Practical work experience is an essential part of this course and you will need to be available five days a week to meet this commitment. You will also develop your communication, numeracy and IT skills to support your personal and professional development.

What can I do next?

This can lead to further study at Foundation Degree Level, or Childcare, Learning and Development NVQ Level 4, the Childcare and Education Advanced Diploma or related professional degrees including childcare and teaching. This qualification can also lead into employment in a range of areas including family centre, children's nurseries and entry into university to study childcare or education.

What are the entry requirements? 

You will need to have four GCSEs grades A-C, or the Children's Care Learning and Development NVQ Level 2, the Health and Social Care BTEC First Diploma or the Childcare and Education Certificate at merit grade. An interview, assessment and two references are required. A Criminal Records Bureau Check must be completed.

What will it cost?

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances, you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out when you apply.
