Is this course for me?
This course suits those interested in a career as a teaching
assistant or in other child-care settings.
What will I study?
This course will cover the English, literacy and numeracy skills
necessary to succeed in the certificate in Supporting Teaching
& Learning in Schools at level 2 and to work in a school or
childcare setting. You will study: English grammar, speaking,
listening, reading and writing, maths, child development, teaching
theory and practice.
What can I do next?
You can progress to level 3 qualifications in Supporting
Teaching & Learning in Schools or Childcare and seek work in
educational and childcare settings.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have successfully completed ESOL or Literacy at
Level 1 plus numeracy at entry 3. In addition, you will have
a short interview and literacy/numeracy assessment before being
accepted.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by examination and portfolio development
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
