Is this course for me?
This course is for those who want to improve their English and
are interested in a working in a hospital, with children, as a care
worker or as a community worker.
What will I study?
You will improve your general English in a programme which
includes grammar, vocabulary, reading, writing, speaking and
listening.
You will practise the English you need to go on to study Health
and Social Care and you will also study numeracy and IT.

What can I do next?
This can lead to other Health and Social Care courses at the
College.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have achieved Entry Level 2 in reading,
writing, speaking and listening. You will also be invited for a
short interview and assessment.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by examination and continuous assessment.
Students have regular meetings with a tutor to discuss progress and
to help plan studies.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
