We offer a wide range of English language learning courses for people who are not native speakers of English.

We have lots of courses for ESOL learners.  Many courses are free or have very low fees.  Come and ask about what courses you can do.  If you are worried about fees, please bring your documents with you and we can give advice

If you want to improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing we have the right course for you. Most of our courses lead to national qualifications and all have strong tutorial support.

Baya Bayati - ESOL for Work

Baya BayatiI come from France and I came to London 18 months ago.

When I came to London I did not speak and understand English at all so it was a big challenge for me to understand people and find a job to survive.

Now, I am a student at Lewisham College doing ESOL for Work because I am looking for a job. This course is really useful because it helps people who have work experience to transfer their skills to an English speaking environment.

I already have experience in communications and events, but wanted to get experience here in England. That's why I'm doing this course.

ESOL for Work has been really useful and helps students get ready for work. The staff support their students to help them to find a work placement - I've done my placement in the College's Marketing and Communications Department. It was a really great and rewarding experience.

You are ready to take GCSE maths and English.

You can join level 2 or 3 vocational courses.

You can look for work in a range of areas.

You are ready to join mainstream education - if you are planning to go to university you should take your GCSEs.
You can join level 1, level 2 or level 3 vocational courses.  You can look for work in a range of areas.

L1 ESOL with IT, science and maths

This is for upper intermediate learners

L1 literacy, numeracy or ESOL

This is for upper intermediate learners

L1 ESOL vocational courses with literacy and numeracy@ Book keeping, classroom assistants, preparation for science work, IT Theory & Practice, Preparation for Employment

This is for upper intermediate learners

You can join level 1 or 2 vocational courses.

You can look for work in a range of areas.

If you need  higher level qualifications, you should continue with ESOL for another year.

E3 ESOL vocational courses with literacy and numeracy: Office Skills, Retail, Health & Social Care, Preparation for Employment

This is for intermediate learners

You should continue to L1 ESOL - you can join an ESOL vocational course.
