Baya Bayati - ESOL for Work
I come
from France and I came to London 18 months ago.
When I came to London I did not speak and understand
English at all so it was a big challenge for me to understand
people and find a job to survive.
Now, I am a student at Lewisham College doing ESOL for Work
because I am looking for a job. This course is really useful
because it helps people who have work experience to transfer
their skills to an English speaking environment.
I already have experience in communications and events, but
wanted to get experience here in England. That's why I'm doing this
course.
ESOL for Work has been really useful and helps
students get ready for work. The staff support their students
to help them to find a work placement - I've done my placement in
the College's Marketing and Communications Department. It was a
really great and rewarding experience.
