The course covers Construction Technology & Materials, Construction Technology & Environmental Design, Building Law & Contract Administration, Computer Aided Design, Project Evaluation & Design, Assessment & Management of Risk, Building Conversion & Adaptation, Management Principles, Building Design & Maintenance and Group Project. If you are working in the Construction Industry and wish to extend your knowledge to a higher technical level, this course forms a sound basis of study.

What can I do next?

This can lead to a part-time degree one day a week for three years or a Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB) course.

What are the entry requirements?

You will need to attend the College for an interview and a short Literacy/Numeracy test. We would expect that you have a BTEC National Certificate/Diploma in Construction, GNVQ Advanced In Construction & Built Environment, 'A' levels or a degree (any subject). However, do not be put off by this as we also take into account other qualifications and experience.

How will I be assessed?

Assessment is by coursework and examination. Students also meet regularly with tutors to help plan studies and to discuss progress.

What will it cost?

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances, you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out when you apply.
