Learning Centre

A wide range of books, periodicals and audio-visual material are available in the Learning centre covering construction technology, science, materials, building surveying, land surveying, mathematics, law, design, health & safety, management and building services.

Computer stations can be reserved for Internet research and coursework projects. A number of these have AutoCad 2008 installed. Photocopying facilities are on hand for student use.

Computer Aided Design Studios

Has recently updated computers with AutoCad 2008 installed, and A4/A3 printers/plotters.

Drawing Office

A2 drawing boards are provided for building up and practising of manual drafting skills.

Land Surveying

A range of theodolites, total stations, surveyors levels and ancillary equipment are held for use in linear and height surveys, setting out of buildings and taking of angular measurements.

What can I do next?

Work in the Industry

Students studying courses including the National Certificate/National Diploma in Construction and Higher National Certificate in Building Surveying have a good track record of success in the industry. All Building studies courses prepare students for work as Surveyors, Architects, Site Managers, Civil Engineers and Building Control Officers.

Run your Own Company

Previous students are now running their own successful construction companies, working for leading architects, or have become trainee surveyors.

Go on to a Degree Course

Many students progress onto Degree courses in Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Architecture and Civil Engineering.
