Is this course for me?

This course is designed for those with little or no experience in computing. You will gain the underpinning knowledge that could aid progress to further education or employment.

What will I study?

This qualification provides basic level skills and knowledge that could lead to further education in IT or related areas. It can offer those moving into their first job roles the confidence to work effectively with ICT and deal with tasks that are straightforward or routine.

  • Unit 101 Improving productivity using IT
  • Unit 127 Spreadsheet software
  • Unit 129 Word processing software

Progress to further education or employment.

This can lead to employment in:

ICT or related areas.

What are the entry requirements?

We will assess your suitability for the course by assessment or if relevant on your previous experience.

How will I be assessed?

Basic skills are assessed through externally set tests.

What will it cost?

If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances, you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out when you apply.
