The Jobs and Careers Service supports students with their career planning and progression on to further learning and work.

Onwards and upwards

We are very proud of our award-winning careers service. At Lewisham College you can be certain that we will do all we can to set you on the right track once you have completed your course.

The Jobs and Careers Centre

Our excellent Jobs and Careers Centre is based in the Learning Centre. Here you can get advice from our trained and qualified Careers Coordinator's. The Centre offers extensive careers information, including books, leaflets, videos, computer software, prospectuses and magazines. You are also welcome to use our telephones, PC's and printers.

Continuing at Lewisham College

We'd love you to stay with us, either full or part time, to add to the skills, training and qualifications you've already gained. All kinds of options are open to you, from studying for an NVQ through to Foundation Degree or choosing an HNC. We're here to help you choose.

Going on to university

When the time to move on comes we are here to help you choose the right university degree course. We can also advise on how to make your application as impressive as possible.

GURU (guidance until you no longer require us)

We will be here to support you for up to two years after you have left . GURU offers email and telephone support to help you settle in at work or university.

Services for Students

  • Careers Interviews: One hour, private and confidential session with a Careers Adviser.
  • Drop in service: Up to 20 minutes with a Careers Adviser, ideal for CV checking.
  • Futures Fair: This annual Careers and Volunteering Fair has it all including some of the biggest employers.
  • Facilities: A well resourced and up to date careers library.
  • Computer Facilities: Computers to jobsearch, produce CVs and complete application forms.
  • Careers Software Programmes: A wide range of careers software programmes that can help you with careers suggestions and skills matching.
  • Telephone: Contact employers or universities to find out about vacancies or work experience opportunities or further study using our freephone. 

Services for Employers

  • Advertised opportunities free of charge: Whether you are seeking to recruit an apprentice or wishing to advertise a job or volunteering opportunity we are confident that you will be successful with Jobs and Careers. We are able to reach hundreds of students.
  • Promoting your organisation: Promote your organisation and opportunities to hundreds of students face to face at our Futures Fair. We can also tailor make a session for you.

Drop in service 11 - 4pm Monday to Fridays (Term time only)

Deptford Campus - Deptford Learning Centre
Drop in service 11 - 3pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (Term time only)Evening appointments are available on request.
