Work related programmes for 14 -16 year olds
At Lewisham College you can take part in a range of work-related
programmes over two years, developing skills to help you plan and
prepare for working life or further study. This is part of our
School links programme
Studying here doesn't have to be full-time - most of our 14-16
year olds are studying with us part-time (usually one day a
week).
Most 14-16 year olds are very happy to be at Lewisham College
for these reasons:
- They love the atmosphere and the fact that they are treated
like adults
- They are very happy learning the skills we have to offer
- They think the skills they are learning will help them to get
better jobs
- Their parents are very happy with the courses they have chosen
for the same reasons
- They like the new-found freedom that college life brings
- They like and respect the professionals that teach them
- They usually exceed their own expectations
Levels of engagement in college activities are very high and
most learners far exceed their own expectations, the expectations
of their parents and the expectations of the school.
The School Link programme was found to be outstanding in the
last OFSTED report, which means that the high quality of our work
can be guaranteed.
