This course suits:
- Maintenance professionals operating within the social housing
sector.
- Non-technical staff from either a customer service or housing
management background (including those working in specialist
repairs call centres) who want to qualify and progress to become a
recognised professional.
- Staff working in social housing who want to move from a
technical to a management role or vice versa
What will I study?
This course aims to address and accredit a range of generic
skills such as communications, technical knowledge, customer care
and ICT that will improve service delivery to tenants, residents,
service users and employers and increase the value of staff to
their organisation.

What can I do next?
This can lead to the CIOB-CIH Level 3 Certificate in Housing
Maintenance or the CIH Level 3 Housing Services Certificate.

- Social Housing Organisations
- Private contractors working on social housing repairs and
improvement contracts
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to be working in a paid or voluntary capacity in a
relevant post and possess a good level of written and spoken
English. This may be assessed by a test and/or interview.
How will I be assessed?
Assessment is by written assessment set by the CIOB-CIH and
internally set assignments, reports and presentations. There are no
formal exams.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
