Is this course for me?
The qualification is made up of units, each unit representing an
area of skill. So you can experience a truly realistic working
environment, theory days and commercial salon day operate on a
rota, which includes some twilight sessions and four
Saturdays throughout the year.
What will I study?
Subjects include shampoo and conditioning hair, cut women's hair
and the art of dressing hair as well as units that contribute to
health and safety and reception work. Study at home is
essential.
What can I do next?
This can lead to a Level 3 qualification in Hairdressing or to
an Apprenticeship in Hairdressing.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have three A-C grade GCSEs. You will be invited
to attend an interview at the College and to complete an assessment
test. It is essential that applicants are forward thinking,
enthusiastic and motivated to work with the public.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
