Is this course for me?
This course is equally split between theory and practice.
The qualification is made up of units, each unit representing an
area of skill.
What will I study?
So you can experience a truly realistic working
environment, theory days and commercial salon day operates on a
rota, which includes some twilight sessions and four
Saturdays throughout the year. Subjects include
cutting, blow-drying, colouring, salon reception duties,
promotion of additional products or services to clients. Study at
home is essential.
What can I do next?
This can lead to Hairdressing Level 3 or to employment as a
hairdresser in a salon.
What are the entry requirements?
You will need to have completed a Hairdressing NVQ Level 1
or have three A-C grade GCSEs. You will be invited to attend an
interview at the College and to complete an assessment test. It is
essential that applicants have an enquiring mind, enthusiasm and
motivation to work with the public.
What will it cost?
If you are under 19 and a home student, in most circumstances,
you don't pay any fees. However, you will need to find this out
when you apply.
